Congratulations to our very own Apprentice of the Year
Vaseco apprentice Christopher Towers has been awarded Engineering Department Apprentice of the Year at Mid Cheshire College. We are proud to have Chris on the Vaseco team and would like to congratulate him on his achievement.
When asked to comment on his Apprenticeship with Vaseco Chris stated the following:
What do you enjoy most about being an apprentice with Vaseco?
Learning and doing new things every week and that no day is ever the same. Being treated with respect and understanding by all staff at every level and also feeling that I am an important and needed member of the team.
What are your ambitions?
I would like to build on any opportunities given so that I can grow and develop my career with Vaseco. I would like to complete my 3 year Apprenticeship with Vaseco and achieve a distinction which I am currently on target for. I would then like to complete a HNC / HND in mechanical engineering if possible.
Once I have achieved the above then I would like to progress within Vaseco and aim at becoming a Team leader or Manager one day. If any further apprentices are appointed then I would love to be in a position to train and pass on my personal knowledge.
When do you hope to complete your apprenticeship?
Currently have 1 year remaining of my 3 year Apprenticeship. However, I would very much like the opportunity to continue my education by taking a part time HNC / HND course which would be a further 2 years.
What would you say to others thinking about becoming an apprentice with us?
Anyone looking at getting into engineering should definitely consider Vaseco as the place to complete an apprenticeship. The support and training that all the staff provide for me is second to none and they really want to get the best out of an apprentice with patient and caring support. I feel part of a family rather than just an employee. As with anything in life you get back what you put in and Vaseco is a prime example of recognising hard work and rewarding this.
Michael Frank General Manager said we, at Vaseco would like to state how pleased we are with the decision to take Chris on as an apprentice. He is hard working, reliable and keen to learn with an eye for detail which will all definitely help him towards his goal of a long term future here at Vaseco.
