Vaseco is one of the most respected companies within the Vacuum, Leak Detection and Pressure industries, having been recognised globally for many years as a pioneer within our field.

Engineering Foundations and Early Innovation

Founded in 1990 by Chairman Phillip Frank, Vaseco began as a specialist engineering business in Cheshire and quickly established a reputation for technical excellence and innovation. Early growth led to expansion in 1992, followed by the design and development of the first production helium leak testing system – proudly used to test the Virgin Global Challenger Balloon during Richard Branson and Per Lindstrand’s historic global flight attempt.

By 1998, continued success prompted relocation to a purpose-built headquarters in Winsford, where Vaseco remains today. In 2000, we were among the first companies to support leak detection technology at the Sellafield Nuclear site, reflecting our growing standing within the industry.

Investment, Capability and Sector Expansion

Ongoing investment and development have been central to our growth. In 2006, we established a UKAS-accredited calibration laboratory, extending our capabilities to numerous international standards. Innovation continued with the development of the Umbilical Riser Testing System for the Oil and Gas sector in 2008, followed by major enhancements to our Environmental Testing facilities in 2011 and 2013.

Innovation Leadership and Global Recognition

The launch of the Vaseco HD1 leak detector in 2018 marked a significant milestone, further strengthened by the introduction of the HD1 Pro Plus in 2026 – demonstrating our continued commitment to advancing leak detection technology.

Today, Vaseco is recognised globally as a trusted leader in Vacuum, Leak Detection, and Pressure technologies. Our expertise supports projects across Oil & Gas, Subsea, Nuclear, Aerospace, Petrochemical, Process, Research, and Scientific industries worldwide.
